MAC USERS (How to EDIT PERMISSIONS)

Several Mac users have encountered challenged with Zoom functionality, especially with sharing slide decks and navigating those slides. To resolve this, Mac users will need to edit permissions when you download Zoom Desktop Client.

To ensure Mac users have a smooth experience hosting Zoom events, read these articles, and adjust your settings accordingly before you are live with a customer or conduct your internal Train the Trainer. These instructions hyperlinked above are dedicated to Mac OS users and the initial Zoom setup. The Zoom Desktop Client may ask you to authorize access to the following permissions, depending on which features you are accessing in Zoom. 

  • Camera: sharing your video in a meeting or webinar
  • Microphone: joining computer audio in a meeting or webinar
  • Screen Recording (Mac OS 10.15 Catalina only): sharing your screen in a meeting or webinar
  • Files & Folders (Mac OS 10.15 Catalina only): sharing and saving files from chat in a meeting or webinar, as well as recording locally to your computer
  • Accessibility: allowing remote control in a meeting
