Quotas allow you to keep track of how many of your survey respondents meet a specific condition in your survey and let you control how many responses you collect.

Creating Simple Logic Quotas
To create and set a quota:
- Click Tools, and then click Quotas.
- Click Add a Quota, and then click Simple Logic Quota.
- Set a condition that must be met in order to increase the count for the quota.
- Quota Logic works the same as Display and Branch Logic, but conditions can only be based on question responses, embedded data fields, or other quotas.
- Click New Quota to name the quota.
- Set the quota limit.
Note: The quota count will increase only when respondents meet the quota condition and submit their survey.
In our example, the quota increases every time respondents indicate they are aged between 18 and 24. The quota is filled once 200 respondents are between 18 and 24.
Determining Quota Limit Behavior
Next, determine the action that takes place for respondents after the quota is filled. Click the Quota Action Menu to view the available quota actions.
- End Current Survey ends respondents’ sessions as soon as they meet the quota condition. We’ll discuss this option in the article, Handling Over Quota Responses.
- Prevent All New Survey Sessions prevents anyone else from starting the survey. Use this option when your quota sets a limit on the overall number of responses on a survey and you don’t want anyone else to access the survey once the limit is reached.
- Do not Display a Block or Question hides a specified block or question.
Click None to have no action taken automatically. Then, create Display Logic or Branch Logic conditions to determine what will happen when your quota is met.
