Bulk Edit Fields on Saved Search
print icon

Follow the below steps when a field needs to be updated to the same value on multiple records (projects, sales orders, etc). Please note that not every saved search allows for direct editing.

Important:

Only one column can be edited at a time.

Do not bulk edit project names or else all selected projects will be updated to the same name.

The bulk edit option cannot be undone. If records are mistakenly included during the bulk edit, either use the bulk edit option again to correct those records, individually edit the applicable field/row, or navigate to the applicable record and edit the necessary field/s.

Example: Bulk Edit Project Status field

  1. Navigate to a saved search and apply filtering as needed to ensure applicable projects are displayed.
  2. Enable the  action. Editable fields will display with a  icon.
  3. Click into the applicable field and then hold down the CTRL button (CMD+Shift on Mac) and select the bottom row that is to be edited. A dotted line will appear around the selected field and rows to identify which ones will be changed. If you do not see the box around all selections, you may need to select each row individually. Tip! When selecting from a dropdown, make your first selection on the bottom row to be edited then click each row as you move your way up the screen - this will keep the dropdown out of the way.

  1. Release the CTRL button, click into the first field selected in the previous step, edit to the desired value then click away.

  1. The field will update to the selected value in all selected rows.
